Is housing guaranteed at CSU Long Beach? ›

Students are encouraged to apply for University Housing once they have been admitted to the university. Remember that University Housing is not guaranteed.

Cal State Long Beach will send out rejection letters to a record 36,200 qualified applicants for the fall semester simply because the university doesn't have enough space.

What is the acceptance rate for CSULB? Cal State Long Beach admissions is selective with an acceptance rate of 40%. Students that get into Cal State Long Beach have an average SAT score between 1020-1240 or an average ACT score of 20-26.

Have earned a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA or "B'" grade according to the CSULB GPA scale. Provide scores for at least 5 subjects completed. In addition, please provide scores for at least 2 "A/AS" subjects completed. Fulfill CSULB's English Language Requirement.

Any Financial Aid received will first go towards your tuition. Remaining funds will go towards Housing. If your aid is not enough, you will be financially responsible for the remaining balance.

According to the enrollment 2023-2024, CSULB received over 38,000 applications for its undergraduate and graduate programs. The total number of undergraduates was more than 34,000 and over 4,000 students were graduates.

Important Housing Update Housing for first-year students who are required to live on campus (via the Live On requirement) is guaranteed. Applications have been arriving steadily and due to high demand, the 2024-2025 residence hall application is now open only to students who are required to live on campus.
