Are LHI and Optum the same company? ›

Today, LHI is the federal health services business of both Optum and UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH). It brings together the vast resources and clinical insights of UnitedHealthcare's unique health services, along with the innovation, technology and scalability of Optum.

Founded in 1945, Beaver Medical Group is one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in Southern California's Inland Empire.

Don Weber founded LHI in La Crosse in 1999 and sold it to Optum in 2011. It provides health policy research, analytics and consulting; military and veteran health services, health IT solutions, health care data and analytics, health care operations and population health management.
