I've been to this salon three times and really haven't had good results. My last experience really sucked. The stylist was in a hurry to get me out of there. She didn't wash my hair and cut it half straight half wavy. I have a long chunk on my left side. My hair was really long and now it's an awkward short length. I have no idea how to style it. She wet my bangs down to cut them. When she was done she asked "want me to dry them" it was like 2 degrees outside. I told her I feel like when my hair is cut wet it comes out better. Huge bummer

Derrick is incredible! The only person I'll let cut my hair! He has tons of experience and knows exactly what will look great for me. He's easy to talk to when you want but it's never uncomfortable when I prefer to sit in silence. He's very focused and his results speak for themselves! I always leave feeling great! The only trouble I've had with Salon Avalon is their reception. They've booked my appointment incorrectly and I am often completely ignored the girl at reception until Derrick comes by. No greeting, no updates on time frame, and no smile. Not a deal breaker by a long shot given the quality of Derricks service but it would make the experience much more pleasant.

My stylist Mechelle is AMAZING. She puts up with my super picky requests and is so fun to talk too. She always knows what's trending with the latest styles and colors. Been seeing her for the past 3 years and love my hair!

I have been going to this salon for my hair styling needs since my first homecoming dance in highschool over 6 years ago. Now, I come back to have my hair styled for my wedding. I booked in person months before the date, and neither myself nor my wedding party were on the books come a week before the wedding. The staff then proceeded to blame the scheduling mishap on us. WORST customer service I have ever experienced. However, the staff is wonderful when it comes to actually doing your hair.
